Lectures on Jewish Culture, Mysticism and Theology
“When of tourists visit Israel as a religious pilgrimage- to visit holy sites and express their love and support for Israel -they are invited to attend a presentation at Israel’s Tourism Ministry in Jerusalem. I am privileged as a Rabbi to be the presenter, to represent the state of Israel and the Jewish people to representatives of many nations.
My presentation begins with the performance of several kinds of Jewish music on flute, biblical harp, and trumpet with accompanying stories. Afterwards I answer, to the best of my ability, any questions they might have.
This is a rare opportunity for people who may never have spoken to a Jewish person- even after a three week visit to Israel. The groups come from all over the world: North and South America, Africa, Europe China, Indonesia and India.
These question and answer sessions often become extended dialogues about the deepest matters of religion and can be profoundly moving. Trained in theology, I explain the Jewish position in a way which shows the closeness and brotherhood between us.
I emphasize how much we Israelis appreciate their love and support of Israel, and how much we love them as well.”
